Who We Are

SchoolsRule Sonoma County is housed within the Sonoma County Office of Education and directed by Sonoma County Superintendent of Schools Dr. Amie Carter, with day-to-day operations led by Deputy Superintendent of Operations and Partnerships John Laughlin. Having this fundraising effort housed within SCOE allows for SchoolsRule Sonoma County to save money on overhead, ensuring that a greater share of funds raised goes directly to benefit our students.

What is SchoolsRule Sonoma County?

SchoolsRule Sonoma County works alongside and in collaboration with Sonoma County’s public school foundations to raise funds on behalf of all TK-12 public school students countywide. We help to ensure that innovative educational opportunities are available to EVERY public school student in Sonoma County, regardless of ZIP code. In pursuit of equitable education funding, our mission is to work collectively with Sonoma County’s school foundation leaders and draw in new funding sources to the public schools across the county's diverse communities while engaging the community in discussions about the important issues facing our schools and public education. It is modeled after SchoolsRule-Marin, which has been at the forefront of fundraising for public education for more than a decade.
