Who We Are

SchoolsRule Sonoma County was launched by Sonoma County Superintendent of Schools Dr. Amie Carter in November 2023 as a community effort to support all public students in the region. The initiative is housed in the Sonoma County Office of Education.

SchoolsRule partners with dozens of local education foundations serving Sonoma County students, as well as school districts without such organizations, to support essential classroom programs. It held its first distribution in September 2024.

The initiative is modeled after SchoolsRule-Marin, which has been at the forefront of fundraising for public education for more than a decade. Local business and community leaders help fuel SchoolsRule Sonoma County’s work in our schools.

SchoolsRule unites people from all corners of Sonoma County in a shared commitment to support our students, teachers, and schools. Together, we are breaking down barriers to ensure our students have access to vital programs, resources, and opportunities that enrich their education and deepen their learning, regardless of where they live or go to school.
