Our Impact

At SchoolsRule Sonoma County, we're committed to transforming students' lives by providing them with greater access to opportunities that expand their horizons and deepen their learning.

We distribute funds to local education foundations and school districts without such groups on a per-student basis, empowering them to allocate resources where they’re needed most. While spending is flexible, it must align with at least one of SchoolsRule’s key focus areas: literacy, student well-being, agriculture and hospitality, and STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and math).

In September 2024, we proudly distributed $136,400 to fund awardees during an inaugural event held in Santa Rosa. Keep reading to see how we’re making an impact. Visit our SchoolsRule in Action page for more in-depth profiles of projects funded by SchoolsRule.

Grant Elementary in Petaluma invested their 2024 SchoolsRule distribution in equipment that encourages sensory-seeking input, which helps students regulate their nervous systems, improve their focus, and manage their emotions more effectively.

SchoolsRule provided support to Santa Rosa Middle School's "Make Gardens Grow" program, in which students plant vegetables, learn about composting, and harvest food.

Santa Rosa's Village Charter School was able to purchase a worm composting system to support its composting program and the school garden.

SchoolsRule helped support Carpe Diem and Sonoma Mountain High School students involved in the FARMS Leadership program. The program provides students with hands-on experiences at working farms, agribusinesses, and universities.

Dunham Elementary staff used SchoolsRule funding to support their new robotics program. Students work with younger peers to teach them Blue-Bot robot coding.
